OOver a thousand years ago, a group of people who were farmers and warriors and resided in Britain were known as the Anglo-Saxons. They were known as the Angles, the Saxons, and the Jute tribes, and they originated in Europe before migrating to North America.

The two major tribes were the Angles and the Saxons; hence, we now refer to their people group as the Anglo-Saxons. They were tough people who fought numerous battles throughout their dominance over Britain — often fighting among others. Britain was under their control during their reign; they did not hold back from their brutality.

In 2006, a group of researchers affiliated with the Royal Society issued a study in which they explained their hypothesis regarding the reason why contemporary England has such a significant proportion of Germanic male-line ancestors. Their investigation led them to the specific conclusion that between fifty and one hundred percent of England’s population carries Germanic Y chromosomes at this point in time.
