This on-going pandemic has annihilated most formal means of communication in the education and business sectors. However, with change comes adaptation and from the ashes, platforms like Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Zoom have emerged.
All three of these platforms have taken over the video conferencing industry, and millions of people around the world are benefitting from this revolutionary technology.
These platforms have enabled us to feel the intimacy of physical interaction from the comfort of our own homes by bridging the gap of communication for us. We will take a look at each platform separately — along with its features and pricing and then decide which one is the best for video conferencing and online meetings.
Microsoft Teams

Features
Microsoft Teams offers business VoIP, video and collaboration features all-in-one. Additionally, it’s integrated with all the Microsoft apps which makes collaborative work a lot easier if you are a Microsoft Office user.
You can use Microsoft Teams to set meetings through calendars, collectively work on shareable documents, share your screen for presentations or elaborative work, make rooms to call and chat with people collectively and record those calls so that they can be referenced to later.
Additional features that Microsoft Teams has, are the customizable backgrounds, the ‘together mode’ in which all members sit together in the same background making it feel like they are all at one place, and file sharing and co-authoring files in real-time.
Microsoft Teams for Education provides ‘Class Teams’, which has features such as templates designed for unique education scenarios such as classroom teaching. Such a feature is highly recommended for online teaching and has proven its excellence among those who have used it.
