The history of The Mona Lisa has always been a subject of interest for many historians around the world. Modern technology and analysis have confirmed that da Vinci started working on the portrait more than five centuries ago in 1503 at his studio in Florence. It was the time of the second Florentine period and da Vinci had already earned his name as a great artist. He worked on the painting for quite a long time and added multiple layers of thin oil glazes over the years.
