Prince Harry revealed some critical secrets of the Royal Family in his recent, blazing memoir titled “Spare,” which was released on January 23, 2023, sending shockwaves through the media and the monarchy. The book details Harry’s decades-long disillusionment with his privileged, watched, and restricted royal existence.

The book’s title is a reference to what he says his father, then-Prince Charles, reportedly said to his mother, Princess Diana, on the day he was born, “You’ve finished my job by giving me two heirs. An heir and a spare.

Harry, who is fifth in line to the throne, has often appeared to struggle with the more ambiguous role of “spare” than his brother, who was born to be king. Additionally, the series on Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, has been Netflix’s most successful documentary launch to date.

Not only is this an unprecedented act from a Royal in terms of releasing information to the public, but it is also a scathing indictment of some of the top members of the Royal Family, including Harry’s brother, Prince William! This has led to heated controversy and discourse, with ongoing debates about the degree of truth involved in Harry’s account.
